"Crossing the Plains with Custer", is an ALL-NEW companion volume to the earlier book "Exploring With Custer". This new book follows the route of the Custer Expedition as it traveled from Ft. Lincoln (near Bismarck, North Dakota) some 300 miles to the Black Hills (in South Dakota), as well as the return route across the plains. It is authored by Paul Horsted, Ernest Grafe, and Jon Nelson.

The book features day-by-day accounts written by the explorers from diaries, official reports, and newspaper stories. More than 180 full-color photos show places where Custer's wagon train passed; GPS coordinates are provided to guide you to many locations along public roads. A special section includes dozens of artifacts found at Expedition campsites on private property; these were photographed from several private and public collections.

Just like "Exploring with Custer" (see http://tinyurl.com/ExploringwithCuster ), the new book is 8.5x11 inches in size and has been designed to match the earlier volume. It has 336 pages.
